Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This Côtes de Bourg is truly not your-run-of-the-mill Bordeaux! It’s got personality in spades and will be loved by by some and disliked by other. I am in the first camp and like it. Very deep intense purple colour. The nose oozes baked ripe plums, milk chocolate, red licorice and warm earthy notes. Dry medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, earthy (almost bretty?), mocha-chocolate, intense, baked ripe, plum-cherry flavours that will obliterate all but the most flavourful of dishes. This grippy blend 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc need a fatty Pittsburgh style medium-rare rib steak. Has 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 17212 on the back label. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 14718
