MODUS 2017 IGT Toscana
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RUFFINO
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense purple colour. Complex, intense, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with some cedar-vanilla-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, intense, tangy, still youthful, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary, mineral-tinged, fairly extracty finish. This NEW blend of 37% Sangiovese, 32% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Sauvignon has 14.5% alcohol and 2.2 g/L residual sugar (4 g/L at the LCBO) with lot number L19308 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TASTING NOTE: This blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet was first produced in 1997. The three varieties are aged separately in small French and American oak casks for approximately 12 months before blending and bottling. Ruffino's take on the Supertuscan style delivers a silky, structured wine that will feature layered, complex ripe fruit and be ideal for grilled meats. Price $ 29.95
