Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PAUL CLUVER
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a sensational, ripe, absolutely delicious Pinot Noir that will please the most discerning of fans. Medium-deep red colour with a faint hint of amber on the edge. Lovely, ripe, rounded, warm pum-black-cherry-raspberry nose with hints of buttered toast and violets. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced, bright, gently complex, toasty, ripe, plummy-black-cherry-cassis flavours that go on and on with a slightly grippy, lingering, tangy, burnt toast finish. This blend of four Burgundian clones undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels - 32% new wood with the balance being second, third and fourth year. It also ages with its lees for 11 months and has 13.5% alcohol and has 2.4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L18101 on the back label and 35017 on the lower part of the glass bottle.
