RESERVA TOURIGA NACIONAL 2016 DOC Dão |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

EVIDENCIA |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, complex, ripe plum-cherry fruit on the nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, fairly intense, ripe plum-cherry-blackberry flavours with a long, lingering, vibrant, fresh, mineral-tinged, well structured, faintly cedary finish. Wow, here is a terrific Touiga Nacional at an extrarordinary price. Quite ready-to-drink, it has 13% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number R2154L0619 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

TASTING NOTE: Floral aromas and a rich texture set the scene for a dense wine. Tannins and black fruits combine together, held by the mineral texture and spice from oak aging. This is a powerful wine that should age longer, so wait to drink until late 2019. Best Buy. Score - 90 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2019) |
