GARDET BRUT TRADITION CHAMPAGNE AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GARDET
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This is the half bottle size of Gardet BRUT TRADITION CHAMPAGNE and is new at Vintages. It was tasted blind, side by side with the 750 ml bottle also on release. I am a tad suspect of half-bottles. in this instance, the quality of the cork closure is not on the same level as the one used in the 750 ml bottle. Nevertheless, I actually preferred this half bottle to the full bottle as it was more complex, flavourful, toastier and even richer on the palate. Bright pale straw colour, the nose is marked with some elegant, complex, lemon-apple meringue notes, a faint hint of honey, a touch of spice. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, attractive, harmonious, ripe lemon-apple meringue flavours with a lingering, toasty, effervescent, complex finish. This more mature non-vintage blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 45% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay has 12% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with number 6112020B on the lower part of the glass bottle. Ay peak. TASTING NOTE: The family-owned Gardet was founded in 1895 and relocated from Épernay to Chigny-les-Roses, a premier-cru-ranked village, in the 1930s. This wine consists of equal parts Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay making up the remainder. Expect a refined, complex wine with a food-friendly character. This will be a good choice for seafood appetizers or as a refined palate-refresher throughout the meal. Price $ 25.95
Bottle Size 375 mL
