SHANAHANS |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense purple colour. Complex, cedary, intense, warm, ripe, black cherry, plummy-cassis nose with hints of smoky, dark chocolate. Dry, full bodied, dense, grippy, rich, ripe, plummy-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, slightly smoldering, high acid, herbes de Provence tinged finish. This huge Shiraz has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 9251 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It is matured in new and seasoned American and French oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling with minimal fining and filtration. |
