LOCUST LANE ROSÉ 2019 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
HIDDEN BENCH |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Bright pale salmon pink colour. Attractive, intense, slightly spicy, faintly floral, wild strawberry, ripe, plum-apple nose. Dry, medium-light bodied, intense, very bright, fresh, lively, strawberry-plum-apple-cherry flavours with a lingering, mineral-tinged finish. This 2019 organic blend of Pinot Noir and Viognier has 12% alcohol and 1.8 g/L residual sugar with 7.25 g/L total acidity and lot number 202004 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The whole-cluster pressed Pinot Noir along with the saignée portion were fermented in neutral French oak and aged for 5 months prior to racking and blending. This may well be the best to date! |
