CHÂTEAU DU BREUIL 2014 AC Haut-Médoc |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
|
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, sandalwood-tinged, gently complex, warm, ripe, plum nose with some slight hints of garrigue and red licorice. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, slightly herbal, still youthful, intense, ripe plum flavours with some sandalwood notes on the lingering, high-acid, red licorice-tinged, grippy finish. Perfect for a fatty charcoal grilled rib steak. This well-made Haut- Médoc is a tasty blend of 54% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot with 13% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number LBR2014CF2 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It is a second REPEAT of the 2014 (**/**+) that was last released on February 22, 2020 at $24.95. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine comes from an estate surrounding an impressive castle. The estate itself was created in the 6th century and is under the same ownership as neighboring Château Cissac. The wine is dark colored with intense flavor. It's sourced from old vines and carries Petit Verdot in the blend. It has the weight and the richness to age well. Drink from 2022. Editors' Choice. Score - 92 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2017) |
