MARGARETE'S SHIRAZ 2015 Langhorne Creek, South Australia |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
JOHN'S BLEND |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, bright, spicy, very juicy, intense, ripe, plummy-black-cherry nose with lots of cedary notes. Dry, full bodied, well structured, rather dense, intense, spicy, ripe, plummy-black cherry purée flavours with lingering, tangy, cedary notes on the vibrant, savoury finish. This hefty Shiraz should be a perfect match with bbq ribs - it was fermented and matured in new French (75%) and American (25%) oak, spending 29 months in barrel. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. The 2013 (***) was released on February 17, 2018 at $39.95. |
