Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep bright purple colour. Fairly intense, warm, ripe, plummy-black-cherry nose with some spicy, mineral-tinged, red licorice notes. Dry, mediuml bodied, very slightly spicy, somewhat complex, fairly fleshy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, tangy, red licorice-tinged, youthful finish. This 100% Syrah which spent 18 months in French oak has 13.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2120051 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The 2015 (not presented) last appeared in Vintages on March 30, 2019 at $35.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Some good complexity and depth here with a fleshy and ripe, melon, pear and apple core. Some white peaches, too. The palate has layered texture and beautiful, apple and pear focus. Long and even. Drink or hold. Score - 91 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 11, 2019) |
