LARROSA ROSÉ 2019 DOCa Rioja |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
IZADI |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Bright very pale pink colour. Slightly spicy, ripe apple puree nose with some strawberry-plum notes. Very dry, medium-light bodied, bright, slightly spicy, youthful, fresh, plum-apple-cherry flavours with a crisp, unoaked, fairly high acid, somewhat leesy finish. Try with seafood or perhaps poultry. This 100% Garnacha has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L.190001 on the back label. The recommended 2018 (**/**+) was released on May 11, 2019 at $16.95. |

TASTING NOTE: You can expect Spanish rosé to emulate the Provençal style. This example is sourced from old-vine Garnacha and will reveal strawberry, delicate spice and herbs, with a lifted floral tone. The fine acidity will give it the breadth to pair with salads, seafood or barbecued ribs. |
