LA GROLA 2016 IGT Veronese
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ALLEGRINI
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly earthy, cassis-tinged, spicy, ripe, plum-apple nose with some lifted cherry kirsch notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, ripe, plum-cherry-raspberry-cassis flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary, rather savoury, fairly complex, still somewhat grippy, sandalwood-tinged finish. This tasty blend of 90% Corvina and 10% Oseleta has 14% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20023 on the back label can still age. The structure combined with the high acidity makes it a perfect foil against Italian tomato-based dishes. CSPC 476598
