PINOT NOIR 2017 Willamette Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Bright fairly deep purple colour. Attractive, bright, very fragrant, rose-tinged, fresh, ripe, red and black cherry nose with some very faintly toasty, fresh raspberry notes. Dry, medium bodied, very nicely structured, slightly spicy, very bright, fresh, ripe, cherry-plum-raspberry purée flavours with a long, lingering, lifted, still crisp, gently complex, harmonious, mineral-tinged finish. Wow, this really is a nicely made - ripe albeit well-balanced. It comes across like a high-end Côte de Nuits Clos de Vougeot and should work wonders with a rare rack of lamb. It has 13.3% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L180822 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: A wild array of forest berries with raspberries and wild cherries taking center stage on the palate, too. There's a crunchy, upbeat and directly expressive feel to this pinot that really appeals. Drink or hold. Score - 92 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 2, 2019) |
