WINEMAKER SELECTION RED 2016 DO Dão |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
PEDRA CANCELA |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense purple colour. Gently spicy, fairly juicy, ripe, plummy-black-cherry nose with some slightly leathery notes. Dry, medium bodied, tangy, spicy, fresh, very slightly tart, bright, plummy-crancherry flavours with a lingering, high acid, lifted, slightly leathery, raspberry-tinged finish. Not overly complex or dense, this well priced blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Tinta Roriz has 13% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number L01820 on the back label. Tasty and ready-to-drink, you can safely ignore the 96-point tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. |
