THE OLD DOG SHIRAZ 2016 Barossa Valley, South Australia |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

SHANAHANS |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense purple colour. Very attractive, intense, slightly smoky, gently complex, expansive, ripe, plummy-black-cherry nose with some sandalwood, licorice and faintly smoky, cedary notes. Dry medium-full bodied, well structured, mouthfilling, gently juicy, very intense, ripe, black-cherry-cassis-plum flavours with a lingering, harmonious albeit fairly pungent, lingering, lifted, cedary, mocha-chocolate-inspired finish. This remarkable Barossa Valley Shiraz has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L020120 on the back label. Screwcap closure. New in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: Inviting plum and mulberry like aromas showing a dash of spice. Nice tannic palate with lovely oak flavours over beautiful cassis fruit. Score - 94 (Wine Showcase Magazine, undated) |
