This 2016 Sonoma County blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 4% Merlot and 3% Syrah was aged for 10 months in French oak (53% new). It has 14.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number 330.1809:50L3 (along with 82_288_1701) on the lower part of the glass bottle. TASTING NOTE: This bestselling cabernet pours an inky ruby hue and smells of cedary wood, anise, clove and blackberry. Full bodied but with a surprising degree of freshness. Juicy and less confected than the norm. Although at a very drinkable stage, it still may upstage more delicate dinner options. Score - 89 (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, May 9, 2019) |
