Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Medium-deep red colour. Gently complex, slightly spicy, woodsy, ripe, plummy, crancherry nose with some hints of sandalwood and blueberry. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, fairly intense, quite mouth filling, bright, still fresh, ripe, plummy, crancherry flavours with a lingering, lifted, gently cedary, savoury finish. Quite ready-to-drink. This 100% Pinot Noir has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2006 on the back label. A portion of the Pinot Noir is while berry fermented before being transferred into French oak barrels (15% new), where the malolactic fermentation takes place and the wine is aged for 10 months. TASTING NOTE: This pinot shows a good contrast between richness from the explosive blue fruit and fresh boysenberry and cranberry undertones. Full-bodied for this grape, but with lots of chewy tannins and a structured finish. Very muscular and serious. Drink in 2023.
