Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TEDESCHI
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. The 2017 was the recipient of our Vintage Assessments Best Italian Red Wine Value Award. This tasty new 2018 has a very deep intense ruby red colour with a amber-tinger edge. Very gently smoky, slightly spicy, complex, intense, ripe plum-cherry fruit with some gently cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, intense, bright, gently complex, harmonious, ripe, plum-cherry purée flavours with a crisp, lingering, sandalwood-tinged, slightly grippy finish. This well structured blend of 30% Corvine, 30% Corvinone, 30% Rondinella and 10% of four other varieties has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2017 L1 on the back label. This is the 34th release in Vintages since 2001 and in the last 14 years the price has only risen from $16.95 to $17.95. Remarkable value. CSPC 984997
