DJL CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2017 Margaret River, Western Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer XANADU
Deep intense purple colour. Fairly spicy, cedar-tinged, juicy, plum-cherry purée nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, very faintly herbal, slightly spicy, faintly dusty, firm, plum-cherry-mulberry flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, gently cedary finish. This youthful blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L9037 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Try with a rib steak. CSPC 444802

TASTING NOTE: Predominantly cabernet sauvignon, 14% of the blend comprised of malbec and petit verdot, 14 months in French barriques. A melange of red and black fruit on the bouquet and palate, with each variety seemingly contributing, layers of mulberry leaf, spicy oak and chocolate also in the equation. Structured to cellar well but certainly enjoyable as it is. Drink by 2027. Special Value. Score - 93 (Steven Creber, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 1, 2019) Price $ 24.95
