MARSH ESTATE PINOT NOIR 2015 Yamhill-Carlton District, Willamette Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ROCO
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Bright, fairly deep, intense, ruby red colour. Very slightly spicy, elegant, ripe, plum-raspberry-cherry nose with some slightly toasty, mineral-tinged notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, bright, still youthful, intense, fresh, ripe, plummy-cherry-raspberry flavours with a lingering, lifted, gently cedary, fairly high acid finish. Great acidity, ripeness and freshness considering the 14.5% alcohol. Has gone through full malolactic and aged for 18 months in French oak (12% new). Only 432 cases produced. In 2001 Texas-born winemaker Rollin Soles along with his wife Corby Stonebraker-Soles founded ROCO Winery with their Witsí End Vineyard. They now produce a wide variety of exceptional Pinot Noir at their various estate vineyards. CSPC 521161

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: A ripe pinot noir that shows strawberries, blueberries and hints of yogurt and cedar. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. I like the structure here. Delicious now. Better in two or three years but already impressive. Score - 94 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 15, 2017) Price $ 48.95
