CÔTES DU RHÔNE 2016 AP
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHÂTEAU DE MONTFAUCON
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Deep intense ruby colour. Bright, gently complex, ripe, cherry-plum nose with some mineral-tinged, faint sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, very slightly spicy, rounded, still fresh, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, well balanced, harmonious, very faintly bricky, mulberry-tinged finish. This blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan has been fermented and aged in concrete tanks without any influence from oak barrels. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L19/95-CDR on the back label. Well structured and quite ready-to-drink. Has not appeared in Vintages before. CSPC 13439

It's smooth from start to finish, with fine-grained tannins and hints of thyme that emerge on the finish. Drink date: 2018- 2022.
