Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense ruby colour. Expansive, complex, intense, slightly maturing, ripe Damson plum nose with some minerality and refined, toasty-cedary notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, harmonious, dense, ripe dark plum flavours with some hints of cassis and a touch of dark chocolate followed up by a lingering, great acidity, elegant and yet extracty, somewhat cedary finish. It would be excellent with a rare steak and/or roast beef. Surprisingly approachable although it will evolve nicely over the next decade. This great Pomerol, at a surprisingly reasonable price, is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon with 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L04.17 on the back label. Has not appeared in Vintages before. CSPC 11839

TASTING NOTE: Dark plums, gently toast spices and dark, stony, graphite-like aromas here. The palate has an extremely fluid, charming feel with dark plums and chocolate in terms of flavors. Really supple and effortlessly long. Try from 2022. Score - 94 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 2, 2018) Price $ 59.95
