LODOLA NUOVA VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO 2015 DOCG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
RUFFINO |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Has a very faintly ambering edge with a deep red colour. Spicy, attractive, maturing, ripe plummy nose with some refined sandalwood-licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, gently tangy, ripe, attractive, plummy-cherry flavours with a crisp, bright, sandalwood-tinged finish. This much improved blend of 80% Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese), 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L19072 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The 2011 last appeared in a Vintages release on October 3, 2015 at $24.95 and was a 90-5-5 blend. |

TASTING NOTE: From Tuscany's stellar 2015 vintage, this wine is fresh, floral and aromatic, with layered black cherry, graphite and earth. Good complexity and great length. Pair this with braised meat. (Vintages panel, July 2019) |
