In France judging the 2020 Concours Mondial du Sauvignon. Here is Tony Aspler’s review. Opaque purple in colour; cedary, blackberry with herbal notes; medium-bodied, dry, fruity and firm; easy drinking with evident tannins. Has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. However, it is not for everyone. Tasted by one of my colleagues who scored it 85-points: Simple, shaken, thick and confected... the commercial appeal should be massive. Has not appeared in Vintages before. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine is crafted in a rich, focused style that emphasizes intensity and concentration. There's great depth and complexity to the fruit and a gorgeous texture and mouthfeel. An approachable, fun wine for casual mid-week dining or barbecues. (Vintages panel, June 2019) |
