BEAUNE 2017 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
NUITON-BEAUNOY |
Of the three red Burgundies featured in the March 7 release, this well-made, still-youthful 2017 Beaune is worth laying away. Medium deep purple red colour. Slightly spicy, fairly intense, classy, fresh, ripe, plum-apple-cherry nose with a faint sandalwood note. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, ripe, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, youthful finish. Give it another 3-4 years. Has 13% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number H30219 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Much better than the 2012 (**+) that was released on May 14, 2016 at $37.95. |

TASTING NOTE: The Nuiton-Beaunoy wine-growing cooperative has been crafting fine Burgundian wines since 1957. This one has good weight and presence on the palate, with red cherry, earth and smoke tones. It's fresh, balanced and beautifully put together. A good option for grilled pork dishes.
