Fairly intense deep purple red colour. Attractive, slightly spicy, ripe, plum-cherry purée nose with some cedary-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, bright, gently juicy, harmonious, fairly complex, fresh, ripe, plummy-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, mineral-tinged, gently cedary, fairly high acid finish. This attractive, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser has 13.1 % alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. It was fermented oak vats with wild yeast followed by 100% malolactic fermentation and then aged in used barrels for 5 months. It is organic and blended with 15% Gamay to provide some extra lift and freshness - tasty! Has not appeared in Vintages before. CSPC 418830

TASTING NOTE: Hand-harvested from certified organic vineyards across Niagara, this wine was fermented wild in oak and then aged in used barrels for five months. The Merlot is blended with 15% Gamay to achieve a juicy, food friendly style. The finished wine is soft, supple and plummy, with vibrant blackberry, spices, and smoky chocolate notes.
