PRESTIGE SAINT-DRÉZÉRY 2017 AP Languedoc |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
PUECH-HAUT |
Very deep intense purple colour. Very slightly spicy, warm, fairly intense, ripe plummy nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, complex, olive-tinged, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, mocha-chocolate, sandalwood finish. This tank-aged blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L19/094 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Seems to melon that it’s quite ready-to-drink. Has not appeared in Vintages before. TONY ASPLER / 90-points / BUY - Blackberry nose with light herbal notes; full-bodied, dry, richly extracted black fruit flavours; great mouth-feel, firmly structured. |

TASTING NOTE: Ripe, meaty black cherries, black olives, pepper, and garrigue notes all emerge from the 2017 Prestige, which is a tank-aged blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah sourced from the Saint Drézéry region of the Languedoc. Deep, full-bodied, and downright sexy, it's loaded with fruit, has sweet tannins, and terrific purity of fruit as well as character. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years. Maturity: 2019-2026. Score - 93 (Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com, April 3, 2019) |
