VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO 2011 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ICARIO
This is one of 43 items out of 92 releases not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. A REPEAT of the 2011 (**/**+) that was released on November 25, 2017 at $19.95. Here is my previous note: Deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, vanilla-coconut nose with some ripe plum notes. Dry but very faintly sweet, medium bodied, harmonious, fairly well structured, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, cedar-tinged finish. This blend of 90% Sangiovese with Merlot, Colorino and Canaille was aged in oak for 18 months. It has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L02114 on the back label. CSPC 534602

TASTING NOTE: Forest floor, truffle, leather, spiced blueberry and scorched-earth aromas all take shape in the glass. Round and juicy, the chewy palate doles out fleshy black cherry, blackberry and licorice alongside polished, seasoned tannins. Drink through 2021.
