THE LACKEY |
This is one of 43 items out of 92 releases not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. This Third REPEAT of the 2017 (**/**+) was released on July 20, 2019 at $17.95. Here is my previous note: Deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, complex, ripe, plum-blueberry-cherry puree nose with lots of cedary , mocha-chocolate-tinged notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, well structured, intense, spicy, plum-cherry-black currant puree flavours with a lingering, cedary, high acid, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: No lack here. The Lackey 2017 is a big, bold Shiraz, opulent with dark chocolate, ripe blackberry, dark cherry, menthol and cracked pepper flavours finishing with oak spice. Pair with a roast leg of lamb. Drink: [Now]- 2023. Score - 90 (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, Aug. 2, 2019) |
