TERRASSEN GRÜNER VELTLINER 2015 DAC Traisental
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MARKUS HUBER
Very bright light straw colour. Attractive, slightly floral, honeyed, ripe melon-apple puree nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, mineral-driven, fresh ripe apple-melon flavours with a lingering, crisp, still youthful, unoaked finish. Fresh versatile and best with seafood and yet has great aging potential. Markus Huber is one of the best producers in the tiny, recently designated, Traisental region which has a mere 815 ha. Has 12.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 1983/16 on the back label. CSPC 484956

TASTING NOTE: Lots of funky yeast still hovers above the wine, underneath there is grassy, savory freshness, reminiscent of salty soy. Lime zestiness is edged with peppery verve. This is a layered super spicy Grüner that deserves your full attention. The textured palate makes it easy to linger and savor.
