Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MARQUÉS DE MURRIETA |
Very deep intense purple colour. Gently cedary, warm ripe plum-sandalwood-tinged nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, mouthfilling, intense, ripe, plummy, red berry flavours with a lingering, rather cedary, somewhat spicy, fairly high acid, sandalwood-tinged finish. This blend of 77% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 8% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L220411462 on the capsule. Better than the 2010 which appeared in Vintages (**/**+) with 88.5-points on February 20, 2016 at $27.95 and was Recommended. |

TASTING NOTE: Terrific aromas of currants, berries, cinnamon and perfume. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a dense palate. Superb length and refinement. Compact. Super length. Superb quality considering the price. More delicate and refined than the 2010. Precise. Drink or hold. Score - 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 2016) |
