In the late 1990s, through DNA fingerprinting, Petite Sirah’s strange parentage was finally defined. It is a field cross of Peloursin, Syrah and Durif (which is in fact a cross itself of Peloursin and Syrah). Tasting note: Deep ruby colour with aromas of blackberry, plum and oak. Dry with excellent fruit replays surrounded by fairly firm tannins. Full-bodied with a long, balanced finish. Will improve in cellar for 3+ years. (Vintages panel, Aug. 2003) Food match: roast beef au jus. Price $ 36.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
Tasting Date vintages release - March 20, 2004
