| A REPEAT that last appeared in Vintages (**+) on December 7, 2019 at $16.95 and was Recommended Best Buy. This “Insider’s Best Buy” was personally purchased from the LCBO on 210820. Here is my updated note from 210821. You should always let sparkling wines rest for a few days before opening in order to calm them down. Unfortunately, I rushed and was unable to slowly ease out the cork. It just exploded before I could seal it with my special closure. Bright pale straw colour, the nose is remarkably attractive with a slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, ripe lemon-apple-melon fruit along with some complex, minerally, buttered toast. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured and very effervescent with ripe lemon-apple meringue flavours and a lingering, crisp, gently complex, harmonious, brioche-tinged finish. Ready-to-drink but can still hold. This bargain-priced new blend of 51% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot Noir has 12.5% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number 10L20/19/18/1 LLJ106A21 on the back label. |

| TASTING NOTE: Great price and value for this quite complex, deep traditional method sparkler. Shows generous, complex aromas of baked apple, dried fried onion, a touch of honey and spice. It is medium bodied, tart, bold and grippy on the palate. Not quite as fine as the average Champagne, but sure delivers similar complexity and depth. At an unbelievable price.
