MERLOT/MALBEC 2015 Hawke's Bay, North Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KA TAHI
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, gently complex, mineral-tinged fresh, bright, ripe plum-cherry-cassis nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, bright, cassis-tinged, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary harmonious, fresh finish. This very tasty, drinkable blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Malbec has 13.6% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 22082017 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Drinking deliciously right now - don’t miss this one! CSPC 645192

TASTING NOTE: It is attractively fruited and fragrant on the nose showing black currant, spiced cherry, dried herb and toasted almond characters. The palate is succulent and beautifully weighted, displaying youthful fruit intensity and rounded mouthfeel, elegantly structured by fine, chalky tannins, finishing long and delicately dry. At its best: now to 2020. Score - 90 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, May 2018) Price $ 23.95
