XAVIER VIGNON |
One of 64 items (56% of 116 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. Any item not tasted is assigned an interim ZERO-STAR (-) rating and an interim 0-POINT proxy score until properly assessed. The previous 2016 appeared in Vintages (**/**+) on September 29, 2018 at $17.95 and was Recommended. Here is my previous note: Deep purple colour. Slightly spicy, ripe plum nose with some gentle licorice-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, ripe plum flavours with a fairly crisp, sandalwood-licorice, fairly high acid finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar |

TASTING NOTE: Medium to full-bodied, with excellent ripeness and concentration, the 2017 Cotes du Rhone boasts assertive blueberry and blackberry fruit. Somewhere between velvety and silky, it's a charming mouthful of Southern Rhône red. Drink Date: 2019-2024. Score - 89-91 (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2018) |
