RARE SPARKLING ROSÉ Product of France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LUC BELAIRE
Not presented at the press and/or consultants preview in the LCBO lab. Here is my tasting note from the 750 ml bottle being released today (cspc 395384 at $39,95). Bright faintly reddish pink colour. Very spicy, honeyed, plummy, strawberry nose. Gently sweet, medium-light bodied, spicy, honeyed, plummy, ripe apple-cassis-cherry flavours with a crisp, gently effervescent finish. This rather simple crowd-pleaser is overpriced and underwhelming. An easy-to-drink carbonated 12.5% blend of 90% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Grenache with 24 g/L residual sugar. It is made by the inexpensive “Charmat” method using bulk stainless steel tanks. Last appeared in Vintages (*+) on March 2, 2018 at $94.95. CSPC 540104
