GINESTRA RISERVA BAROLO 2010 DOGG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CASCINA CHICCO |
Mature lightish ambering brick red colour. Intense, complex, “bricky” ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, fairly dense, spicy, baked plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, tomato-water and sandalwood-tinged finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. Seems a tad subdued at the moment. |

TASTING NOTE: Succulent and silky in texture, setting the stage for cherry, licorice, leather, tobacco and salty flavors before the firm, assertive tannins grip the finish. Excellent length. Should come together with time. Best from 2022 through 2038. Score - 95 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Nov. 30, 2017) |
