CUVÉE LES ROCHES MORGON 2015 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHÂTEAU DU CHATELARD
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Somewhat spicy, intense, complex, baked plum-cherry nose with some blueberry notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, dense, intense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, cassis-tinged finish. At last a grippy, well structured Moron that;s worth buying and perhaps even laying away for a short time. Perfect for coq au vin or steak frites. Has a hefty 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Given the mediocrity of what normally appears in Vintages, this is a must buy. In fact, of the 66 Cru Morgon have been listed in Vintages since 2000 - do a search and get a linked list on my database - ONLY TWO have scored 90-points or higher! CSPC 558528

TASTING NOTE: Vines planted almost directly on the rock have produced this firm and structured wine. It is solid with dark tannins and concentrated black fruits. Plenty of acidity gives a succulent character to this generous wine. Drink from 2018. Editors' Choice. Score - 93 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2017) Price $ 24.95
