Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, faintly soapy, sandalwood-tinged, pine cone nose with lots of juicy black cherry notes. LCBO Text Status A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection!
TASTING NOTE: Richer and riper than the '11. As a result it's stunning in a different way. Eucalypt plays a leading role here but so too does beautifully ripened blackcurrant, plum and bay leaf flavours. Cedary-spicy oak has melted straight down into the fruit, and tannin is fine but ever-so-firm. We have something special here. Drink By: 2040. Score - 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Oct. 6, 2016) Price $ 44.95
