Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SANCHEZ ROMATE |
Fairly deep amber colour with a yellow edge. Honeyed, sweet, caramel-driven, plummy nose with some orange peel notes plus a faint hint of garrigue. Fairly sweet, medium bodied, smooth, intense, spicy, ripe plum-Sultana-raisin flavours with a lingering, cedar-caramel finish. This REPEAT has 40% alcohol with lot number L17061 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: Butterscotch galore! This sweet and beautifully balanced Brandy, made with PX (Pedro Ximenez) grapes from the Jerez region of Spain, would be dynamite with holiday fruit cake, rum cake, or while enjoying a fine Cuban cigar, or one of my favourite non-Cuban sticks, a 1992 Vintage Rocky Patel. Very impressive Brandy that I'd highly recommend enjoying this holiday season. Score - 94 (Matt Steeves, quercusvino.ca, Nov. 2016) |
