SASSEO PRIMITIVO 2015 IGT Salento
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MASSERIA ALTEMURA
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, spicy, intense, expressive, juicy, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some cedary mocha-chocolate notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, intense, very ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a rather juicy, lingering, blueberry-cedar, mocha-chocolate driven finish. As I said before, there’s nothing subtle about this wine just good old fashioned flavourful Primitivo. It has 14.5% alcohol and 10 g/L residual sugar with lot number LB7212 on the back label. Unfortunately, one bottles seemed faulty - this is the good one. The recommended 2014 (**+) was released on May 27, 2017 at $16.95. CSPC 366955
