ALBERT BICHOT |
Medium deep red colour. Slightly spicy, slightly tart, fairly ripe apple-plum-cherry nose with some faint sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, crisp, fresh, apple-plum-cherry flavours with a clean, light finish. This blend, of Pinot Noir and Gamay - formerly called Passe-Tout-Grains now Coteaux Bourguignons has 13% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. OK at the price, perhaps slightly chilled. |

TASTING NOTE: The Coteaux Bourguignons AC was established in 2011 and provides Burgundy's winemakers with more flexibility in terms of where they source their grapes and what varieties they can use. Here we have a Pinot-Noir and- Gamay blend from Albert Bichot, a family-owned and -operated fixture in Burgundy since 1831. Albert Bichot was named Red Winemaker of the Year at the 2017 International Wine Challenge. This wine is juicy and herbaceous, with red berry, cherry and a bit of dark fruit and spice. Approachable, round and smooth. (Vintages panel, Aug. 2017) |
