THE BAROSSAN SHIRAZ 2015 Barossa, South Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PETER LEHMANN
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, complex, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with lots of sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, solid, well structured, intense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, mouthfilling, high acid, gently cedary, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. A terrific value Shiraz that can evolve for several years. This REPEAT has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L17250 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The recommended 2015 (**+/***) with 89.5-points was released on December 9, 2017 at $21.95. CSPC 522235

TASTING NOTE: Dense, with sink-your-teeth-into-them tannins and fleshy notes of spiced plum and wild blackberry. Tobacco, espresso and nutmeg details add aromatic interest, but the focus and purity of the fruit flavors is most powerful on the long finish. Drink now through 2029. Smart Buys.
