ESTELA ARMANDO BONARDA 2016 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LA POSTA |
Fairly deep purple colour. Spicy, juicy cherry nose with some vanilla-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, spicy, slightly juicy, attractive, warm plum-cherry puree flavours with a crisp, gently cedary, blackberry-tinged finish. A ready-to-drink crowd pleaser. This 100% Bonarda from Mendoza has 13% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L18032 on the back label. Note that Bonarda was until recently the most widely planted wine grape variety in Argentina. While not the Bonadra Piemontese, this late-ripener is related to the northern Italian Bonarda Novarese. TONY APLER / 89-points / BEST BUY - Spicy, cedary, smoky blackberry bouquet with vanilla oak notes; medium to full-bodied, dry, fruity, blackberry flavours with lively acidity and ripe tannins. |
