Bright orange-tinged golden amber colour. Intense, rather smoky, intense, spicy, honeyed, caramel-tinged, rose hip plum jam nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, dried pear, rose hip plum jam flavours with a lingering, very bright, lingering, fairly high acid, rather spicy, intense, smoky, vibrant finish. This one-of-a-kind Ardbeg even has some shades of Cointreau and Christmas cake. Has 46% alcohol. Very nice. CSPC 554667

This exceptional limited-edition whisky was matured in ex-red-wine casks that were heavily charred to produce grooves (hence the name) in the surface of the wood, resulting in more intense flavours. Expect an intensely smoky, subtly fruity dram with plenty of character. Price $ 199.95
