Deep red colour. Fairly spicy, slightly peppery, fairly juicy, plum-apple nose with some savoury notes. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, fairly juicy, plum flavours with a crisp, slightly peppery, somewhat toasty finish. This crowd-pleasing blend of 94% Syrah, 4% Cinsault and 2% Carignan It has 13.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number 17212 on the back label meaning that this batch was bottled on Monday, July 31, 2017. Better than the 2014 (*+/**) released on August 6, 2016 at $19.95. TONY ASPLER / 87.5-points - Savory, smoky, white pepper and blackberries on the nose; medium-bodied, dry, somewhat lean for the alcohol; medium to full-bodied, dry, earthy, red plum flavour with drying tannins on the finish.
