Very deep intense purple colour. Spicy, fairly juicy, somewhat leesy, ripe plum-cherry nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, tangy, juicy, slightly leesy, cherry-plum flavours with a crisp finish. This blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 87-points - Cedary, blackberry and blackcurrant nose; medium to full-bodied, dry, fruity blackberry flavour with dried herb notes and evident tannins. A touch hard on the finish. |

TASTING NOTE: I loved the 2015 Luberon Versant Nord (80% Syrah and 20% Grenache) and this is a seriously good value for those that love cool climate Syrah. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by classic notes of blackberries, blackcurrants, leather and pepper, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness and beautiful purity. Reminding me of a classy Crozes Hermitage, it's well worth checking out and should keep for 4-5 years. Drink Date: 2016-2021. Score - 90 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016) |
