Deep purple red colour. Slightly spicy, faintly dusty, youthful, plum-cherry-apple nose. Dry, medium bodied, somewhat herbal, dusty, firm, plum-apple-cherry flavours with a very crisp, youthful, somewhat tight finish. Need time - not very charming at the moment. This blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon has 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: This third wine under the fourth-growth Beychev[e]lle label offers value with style. Produced from grapes that are outside the chateau's Saint-Julien appellation, it shows plenty of the estate's stylish winemaking. There's black currants and attractive acidity and tannins. The wine is developing although it is not yet ready. Drink from 2018. Score - 90 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2017) |
