Deep intense purple colour. Fairly complex, faintly smoky, slightly spicy, quite herbal, plum-cherry-cassis nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, fairly dense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, slightly smoky, very high acid, somewhat herbal, cedary finish. This tasty, very well-priced Maipo Valley Cab Sauv has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L7314 on the back label. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BEST BUY - Cedary, blackcurrant with vanilla oak notes; medium to full-bodied, richly-extracted blackcurrant flavour firmly structured, lively acidity with a herb-tinged finish. The recommended 2014 (**+) was released on November 25, 2017 at $17.95. |
