SHIRAZ 2015 Frankland River, Western Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer FRANKLAND ESTATE
Deep purple colour. Spicy, gently cedary, ripe plum nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, faintly dusty, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, somewhat cedary, tangy finish. Quite ready-to-drink. This blend of 97% Shiraz and 3% Viognier has 14% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / TRY - Cedary-spicy-herbal, smoked meat bouquet; medium-bodied, dry, savoury blackberry flavour, firmly structured with balancing acidity. You can safely ignore the excessively high tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. CSPC 552133

LCBO Text Status A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection!
TASTING NOTE: Bright, full crimson-purple; the variety and the terroir seek to impose each one's stamp over the other, both failing in their attempt, the perfect win-win outcome. Blackberry fruit, spice and black pepper lead the way on the bouquet and medium-bodied palate alike, French oak (subtle) and tannins (ripe, but fine) completing a great portrait of cool-grown shiraz. Special Value. Drink by: 2035. Score - 95 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 1, 2017) Price $ 26.95
